HEALTH INSURANCE ELIGIBILITY
Graduate students working 20 hours or more a week are eligible for health insurance. Graduate students must sign-up for insurance orientation.

Mandatory New Employer Welcome at OHR for Employees Working 20 Hours or More and for a Period of 4 1/2 Months or More
If you qualify for UT employee insurance for the first time,
or if you have had a break in service and are returning to qualified
status:
New employees must sign up for New Employer Welcome (to
hear about UT, various insurance plans, get brochures and forms necessary
to add dependents and/or select option coverages).
Benefits eligible employee will receive the Automatic Package
from their first day of benefits eligible employment, but the timeframe
to elect coverage other than the Automatic Package will now be 30
days. (The Automatic Package is employee
only coverage with UT Select medical, $10,000 life insurance, and
$10,000 personal accidental death insurance).
Dependents must be added (form submitted) within 30 days
from the date of employment in order to be covered.
